Smiling Fearlessly with Smile Brilliant

I have been so excited to post this for you guys. I want to share with you the experience I’ve had with my new favorite way to whiten teeth – Smile Brilliant!

Because I know many of you (if not ALL) are probably on your second cup of coffee by now, let’s be real.

So, let’s rewind a few years to when I was in college… back when my coffee addiction began. It was my junior year, I had just transferred and changed majors AND gotten a new job, so my life suddenly got REAL busy. My life became: eat, class, work, study, repeat. Notice how there is no “sleep” in that pattern… because I truly rarely slept! I turned to coffee. I had made it to 21 without HAVING to have coffee in my life. But y’all… that year I just couldn’t live without it! The addiction had begun. I drank it alllllll the time, several times a day most days.

Now, here I am, still in a committed relationship with coffee. I have tried to quit coffee numerous times. It just doesn’t work out! I even do decaf (ugh I just cringed at myself) sometimes, but never quitting coffee. And don’t get me started on wine!! I had recently tried Crest white strips, but wasn’t a huge fan of them because of how difficult they were to keep on. When I wore them, they slipped off my teeth almost every time, so I felt like it was a waste. I had finally accepted that my teeth will probably never reach their full, whiteness potential.

Being a blogger and all, it’s impossible not to want a fresher, whiter smile – it’s our biggest accessory! But we also want convenience, am I right? Enter Smile Brilliant! I’m so glad that I found a whitening kit that is EASY and that WORKS.

Here’s the rundown:

Smile Brilliant is an at home teeth whitening system that has really figured it out. They are recommended by more dentists than any other whitening product! And can whiten your teeth for 70% of your dentist’s cost, and over twice as fast! Amazing, right?!

After receiving your whitening kit, you send in your teeth molds (don’t worry – they pay for your shipping to send it back!). Then they send your custom-fitted trays straight to your door, and boom you can get started!

First of all, the step-by-step instructions are very user friendly and easy to understand! I loved this because when using a product with multiple steps, I need it all thoroughly described or I worry I’m doing it wrong. This seemed so easy!

Another thing I loved about this process, is the custom teeth trays. They actually stay in place, unlike most strips I’ve used that slide off your teeth when wearing them. I can actually do things and talk (just with a slight lisp haha) while I have them in without worrying about them messing up or slipping off my teeth. Because who has time to just sit there while you wait?!

Now for the question you’re probably already asking in your head – does it give you tooth sensitivity? While I definitely experienced some mild sensitivity while the trays were in, I hardly felt any once I was done using them. The only time I had any gum pain was during the whitening (because the gel was touching my gums slightly). It does burn a bit at first, and may be a bit uncomfortable, but nothing too crazy. Fortunately, they provide you with a desensitizing gel to use after the wwhitening gel! This seemed to help my gums a lot! I was so thankful for this, because I hate when my teeth get sensitive, and any other whitener I’ve used makes them sensitive. I’m sure everyone’s teeth/gums are different, but for me it was very minimal sensitivity. If you do experience some though, they have tips for helping ease it 🙂

My favorite thing about the custom whitening trays? THEY WORK! I noticed a difference within a couple times of using them. It’s honestly pretty amazing to watch your teeth change within a couple weeks’ time! I’ll share my before and after photos below so you can see for yourself.

I would 100% recommend Smile Brilliant if you’re looking to whiten your teeth. Not only does the product work, but the customer service is extremely helpful and kind. I even messed up one of my first molds I sent in for my trays, and they quickly sent me a second round so that I could try again! They were helpful in how to properly do it and were very patient. I also received everything in the mail promptly and quickly!

Before showing off my Before’s and After’s, let’s talk GIVEAWAY! I’m teaming with Smile Brilliant to give away a customized tray creation kit!! Monday Motivation

Hi guys! Hope your week is off to a lovely start. After having my family in town last week, this week already seems to be dragging and quite boring. I wish I could just keep them here with me, haha! We had so much fun. I’m already anxious for their next visit.

We spent most of the time at the beach, but when we weren’t on the beach we went out exploring some new places – shops, coffee/food places, etc. – and eating yummy food (my best hobby!). We shot these photos in Historic St. Andrews – one of my all time favorite spots in this whole area!

This outfit was perfect for covering up my sunburnt shoulders without making me sweat in the heat! I bought this shirt at Riffraff several years ago, and I’m so happy I have held onto it, because bell sleeves are making the biggest comeback! I will link the outfit details at the bottom of the post (linking similar shirts since this one is old)!

Anyways, let’s talk about getting OUT of your own head and letting positivity in!

One of my BIGGEST struggles this week, to be honest.

I have come a reeeally long way as far as self love and all that goes. Most days, I love myself regardless of what negative thoughts try to pop into my head and ruin my day… But some days, or weeks, just don’t come as easy. Some days, my negativity toward MYSELF saturates everything I do and affects my whole mood. Not cool, but it is what it is. So please know that you are not the only one struggling with this!

My husband said something very profound to me today, although to him it was probably a simple remark. But when I was complaining about something, I said to him, “Ugh, it’s fine. I’m fine.” And he replied with, “Fine, or good?” WOW this resonated so much for some reason. (Sorry babe for telling this 😘 but your wisdom must be shared!)

Maybe it’s just me, but that made me stop and think about how negative I was being for NO reason. I was acting like my world was going to end, when in reality, I am good and LIFE. IS. GOOD. God has given me this life and this purpose, and it is good and it is well. We aren’t put here to be average and “just fine” but to be happy and purpose-driven.

It’s like God is just really pushing for me to get my chin up ASAP because on top of the hubby’s encouragement, I was reading my devotional and it basically said, “You’re gonna get through today, no matter what, so you might as well take the happy route through today, by choosing Me.”

If you’re doubting yourself, whether it be your appearance, your financial situation, your job, whatever – please remember to choose Him, choose HAPPY! Being happy is a choice, and you’re the only one who can make it 🙂

I may only be preaching to myself today… but hey, I hope this helps you lift your chin a little like it did mine. Hope your week is fabulous! Thanks for stopping by

Wellness Wednesday: Comparison

Hi pretty people! These super fun yoga pants are from HERE and code “reasoner” saves you some monaaaay! My “Chill” top is from TJ maxx and I’m obsessed. It’s like TJ knew I love to netflix and chill.

I hope your hump day has been fantastic. Mine has been rainy, but productive overall. The nice thing about rainy days is you can stay in and GET. STUFF. DONE. I love checking stuff off a to do list.

I also love naps, like a lot, which is also a huge temptation on days like today. So I’m writing this post instead! It helps me feel more productive 🙂

This morning in the shower, I prayed that God would use me somehow today. Just that. Use me, however. Whatever. I had no specific ideas in mind at that time. But as I was finishing my workout today, I kept thinking about this topic and realized that maybe this is what God wanted me to talk about on here today! (I originally wasn’t going to post today)

If this doesn’t relate to you, I apologize and hope I don’t bore you too much. If it does relate to you, I hope you can find some comfort here on my little corner of the internet!

Something we ALL can relate to is comparison. We are surrounded constantly by people on Instagram with “perfect” bodies (I say that in quotations because we are humans and surprise! not perfect). We are reminded constantly of how hard people are working at the gym, because let’s be honest almost everyone posts their workouts – I am guilty of this too! We scroll through feed after feed full of what everyone else is doing, and we forget that we are only seeing a very small fraction of what’s really going on.

On top of social media, there are always co-workers, family members, friends, etc. who seem to be doing just a little more or better than we are. Or maybe something you wanted job-wise, school-wise, etc. didn’t work out, and it made you feel inferior when comparing yourself to your colleagues.

Am I right? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who struggles with this.

But something I have had to basically FORCE myself to do is to take a step back from Instagram or Twitter or whatever platform it is that’s making you feel inferior. Because if it’s giving you anxiety or making you feel less than AMAZING, then is it worth spending time on? No. Take a step back.

I’m not saying delete your insta or anything, Lord knows I love the ‘gram lol. But when you start feeling yourself making comparisons, TAKE A BREAK! Put your phone down, and go enjoy the moment.

And remember, no matter how perfect someone’s instagram feed is, their life is certainly not. Everyone has their struggles, or insecurities, or whatever. Everyone’s body is different. That super intense workout they do might work for them, but maybe you have bad knees and can’t do high impact stuff. THAT’S OKAY! It doesn’t make you LESS, it makes you DIFFERENT. If we were all the same this life would be so boring.

And on top of everyone’s body being different, so is everyone’s situation! Don’t judge your body based on someone thinner than you – what if they have a food intolerance that causes them to be limited on what they can eat, thus resulting in weight loss? What if you didn’t get that internship because a BETTER one is waiting for you down the road? Don’t let what can often be a very positive, happy social media platform turn into something that causes you unneeded anxiety.

Being someone who often struggles with anxiety, this realization has been key for me! Everyone’s on their own path. So let’s build each other up, love each other, and MOST importantly, love OURSELVES. We can’t truly love others until we first love ourselves.

Rainy Day Casual

Hi friends! I have been loving my time here at home the last few weeks – terrifying storms and all. But, let’s be honest… you can only keep a girl away from the beach for so long. I am anxious to get back to my actual home!! Plus, living out of a suitcase can get exhausting. I’d say the biggest struggle for me lately, however, has been change. Plans changing. So many things in my life have just changed at the last minute and left me feeling caught off guard and stressed out and sometimes even angry. I’m a planner, it’s just my personality. While I do love being spontaneous, I also need structure. So, when not just one but many things up and change in my life all at once, no matter how big or small – it causes chaos in my mind (looking at you, Satan).

Lately I’ve learned to just be still and know that God is in control, not me. My job is not to worry, because what does that do? Having faith isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. So, wherever you’re at in life, keep your faith even when it’s tough! He’s got your back I promise!

Sorry for the completely non-fashion-related rambling. I felt like someone else might be feeling like me so thought I’d share 🙂

For a good chunk of the time I’ve spent here, it has rained. In fact, immediately after taking these pictures, it poured. April showers this year have been relentless! I wish I had a dollar for every tornado warning we’ve had here lol. These crazy storms ruined some of my most exciting plans here.

Anyways, because of all the rain, the theme of many of my outfits became COMFY+CUTE. And this dress is about as comfy as it gets! I got it back in December, and it’s versatile and can be worn into the spring! I usually break up the stripes by tying a long sleeve around the waist. I went for chambray this time, but plaid is really cute with it too! And being in AR for the week, I figured this hat was pretty appropriate 🙂 I got it HERE and they actually have recently released some new, similar hats that are SO cute (think: one says “Dry Shampoo” omg yas). And my Steve Madden’s on my feet because HOLY COMFY.

And that, my friends, is how you stay comfy yet cute in the rainy weather (without having to try too hard hehe). Hope your week is fantastic!

Blush Crush

Hi guys! Happy hump day 🙂 I almost said happy Monday but then realized today is Wed and my days are all mixed up.

My hubby is about to be gone for awhile so we took a last minute getaway trip to Atlanta the last few days! We had so much fun. I came home with a full heart and hopefully some new abs from laughing so hard. JK we ate out for every meal so bye bye abs. It felt great to get away for a hot minute!

Anyways, first let’s talk about my current spring obsession: blush. It’s the color of the season and I’m not mad about it. I went shopping the other day and everywhere I looked, I saw blush tops and accessories.

So this top combines two of my favorite trends – the color blush and the off shoulder top! Seriously as good as it gets for a top. Plus it’s so light and comfy, yet the sleeves give you some cover if you’re going out at night! I wore this out to dinner the other night and it was the PERFECT lightweight long sleeve for a spring evening. I can’t wait to pair it with white skinnies or denim cutoffs in the summer!

Second. While we’re talking about vacation and indulging and all the cheats I ate *and loved* while traveling with my love… lets also talk about balance!

Balance is a great thing. And I am so happy I have finally found a level of self love where I can find my balance.

Don’t get me wrong – I still have moments where I talk bad about my body and hate what I see in the mirror (I’m a work in progress but I’m also better than I have been in a long time!!). I’m not perfect!!

BUT! I’m not gonna let my fear of maybe eating extra calories overcome my enjoyment of YUMMY FOOD and time with my hubby! Something I’ve learned and truly believe is this:

Hating your body won’t get you nearly as far as loving it.

So moral of this rambling story: enjoy the occasional indulgences! You will drive yourself crazy if you are too hard on yourself. Trust me. Don’t deprive yourself of good moments with friends/family because of your fear of food. Food is to be enjoyed. If you’re a foodie like me, you will be so sad if you skip the treats 100% of the time. As long as you love yourself enough to put real, clean food in it MOST of the time and remain active — you can have that cookie every now and then 😉

Okay I hope you guys have the best Wednesday. Thanks for reading!

My V-Day Look

img_2580Hi guys! I’m so happy February is upon us. I love celebrating Valentine’s Day! Not just romantically but loving on all my favorite peeps.

I had high hopes of showing you guys my V-day/date night look in this post, but the wind did not cooperate WHAT.SO.EVER during this shoot… so I’ll leave you with the one picture that turned out 🙂 Sorry!

The fun, bell sleeved “top” is actually a romper that I put a fun skirt over! I got a little creative with it. Don’t be afraid to play around with different outfits and styles. Romper is from Dillard’s, and was on sale for a great price! I’ve hit major jackpots the last few times I’ve hit up Dillard’s sale racks! Always worth checking out!

Have the best Monday, loves!

Hi babes! Is anyone else scrambling right now trying to get the last few Christmas presents bought and wrapped?! Because I’m kind of freaking out that it’s SO close now. And while writing down my last few items I need to get, I had a realization: February is right around the corner… which means that so is Valentine’s Day!! So many gifts to get!

Speaking of getting gifts… we HAVE to talk about my new favorite watch (yes I wear it on my right wrist – I’m a lefty!), because it would make the perfect gift for someone you love, whether for the holidays OR Valentine’s Day!! Trust me guys it’ll be here before you know it.

JORD wood watches have quickly stolen my heart. They have such an awesome, unique look, because they are made from a different variety of woods from all over the world. How cool is that?! They have some really beautiful watches, that vary from light to dark wood, from neutral to colorful faces, and several different shapes and sizes. So you’ve got a great chance of finding one for any person’s style. It would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for your boo thang (men OR women!)! My hubby was definitely eyeing mine when it came in the mail, and I even saw him try it on! I think he needs one too 😉

Wanna hear the best part?! I’m partnering with JORD to do a giveaway contest for a $100 gift card! All you have to do is fill out the simple information at the link below, and then wait! BUT there’s more good news. At the end of the contest (1/22/2017) one winner will be chosen for the $100 but everyone who enters will receive a $25 e gift code! So you should enter. Get that $25 (or $100!) and put it towards your love’s Valentine’s gift (or last minute Christmas gift)! 😉

Hi loves! I hope your Wednesday is off to a great start! Yesterday was an interesting day so I’m hoping today is much better. I’ve decided to take the positive approach and make the best out of new days/beginnings. My plan isn’t always what’s best, and I’m learning that more each day!

Today’s look is super comfy, which is perfect for this rainy day! (hence the curls struggling to hold in my hair). Not only is it comfy but it’s so fun and if you watch New Girl you already see why! Oh my GOSH you guys I am a huuuge New Girl fan. I’ve been obsessed since college. If I wasn’t studying, I was probably watching New Girl or anxiously waiting for them to put the next season on Netflix (while watching reruns with my roomie *who got me hooked in the first place thank you Haley* in the meantime). Fast forward to when hubby and I moved in together, and I got him hooked too. So basically instead of going on dates we would watch New Girl over and over, and be so content with it!

When we lived in CO, we gathered some friends one night to play the famous drinking game they play on the show, True Americans. So. Much. Fun.

“It’s like 75% drinking game, 25% life size candy land. And the floor is molten lava.”

You get the point. Go play it. But not right now because it’s 9 in the morning.

When I saw that Riffraff was about to release these t-shirts, I freaked out and preordered one ASAP. It’s from my favorite brand of tees, Friday + Saturday, and it’s the softest shirt you’ll ever wear. And get this- they made one with Friends and Laguna Beach too! My head’s gonna explode. I want them all. But I had to start with this one.

I went with OTK boots and my favorite coat to make it a little more cozy/wintery, but can’t wait to wear it with cutoffs in the summer too.

Now that you know how lame I truly am, I’ll leave it at that. I hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks for reading.

Hi! We are almost halfway through the week which means it’s basically almost Friday. Yay!

I’m currently cozied up on the couch admiring my Christmas finds in the $3 section at Target, summoning energy for the gym. I don’t even care if it’s “too early” because I love Christmas time more than anything. Like elves are my spirit animals. It doesn’t mean I like Thanksgiving any less. Plus… I still have my pumpkins out too, so it’s okay right? (That’s how I justified it to the hubs, who is firmly against decorating before Thanksgiving)

Anyways! Today’s look is featuring one of my faaaavorite trends this season – lace-up tees! Major heart eyes for this shirt because it can be worn as a dress OR tunic, is super edgy and fun, AND it has POCKETS! Thank me later, ladies. Plus, they just got restocked in all different styles and colors! (HERE). I added the purple bralette for a pop of color and to cover up a little since the shirt dips a little low.

The liquid leggings are just my favorite staple for this season and winter because they go with everything. You’ll be seeing me in them a lot (probably too much).

And let’s talk about camo for a hot minute. I’m obsessed. It’s so great for breaking up a completely solid outfit like this one, and can be mixed with other patterns as well. I personally enjoy wearing it with stripes. But this jacket is great for fall in Florida; not too heavy but not too light!

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is only one week away! I’m thankful for you guys 🙂

Happy Monday! I hope you’re having the best Monday ever. I haven’t had coffee all day and I’m wondering how I’m still alive right now.

Anyways, I’m excited to share this outfit with you guys because it’s one of my favorites for fall! The weather is finally getting cooler here in FL, but it’s mainly cool in the mornings and evenings. Which means it’s hard to find the appropriate outfit to wear when going out. That’s why I was so excited when I got this cute suede skirt because it’s very fall-ish yet not too warm for the Florida sunshine!

I went with a simple, white crop top for this one because it was pretty warm out. But if you’re wanting a little more warmth, throw a chunky knit sweater over the crop and you’re good to go. I am currently on the hunt for a chunky knit for this season, just for outfits like this one. They’re more versatile than you think! And of course, boots. Because it’s not fall without boots. Am I right? I’m SO thankful my hubby got me these boots a couple of years ago because over the knee boots are THE SHIZ right now! And they don’t have a heel, which is even better for me and my weak feet!

I got the skirt for less than $15 (yes, you read that right!) at forever21. The crop is from ShopRiffraff (& I’m pretty sure they recently re-stocked it!!). Like I said, the boots are from a couple seasons ago, but I am linking very similar ones for you at the bottom!

I was sitting in the tire shop this afternoon (for way too long *eye roll*) and the news was on. Oh my gosh it made me SO sad hearing about all the hate people are displaying in our country right now. So here’s my tiny ray of sunshine for your day: God is the One who ultimately runs this place, and He has huge plans for all of us! So let’s please love on one another regardless of who we voted for, because like the song says, “Red yellow black and white, we’re all precious in His sight!” Let’s pray for more love and less hate.

Hope you babes have the best start to your week, and thanks for reading!
