Cacao Peanut Butter Energy Balls

You guys… these cacao PB energy balls are the BOMB.COM. Is that still a thing? Bomb.com? Anyways, they’re so good so I’m excited to share the recipe!

I’ve been slacking on creating recipes lately, but finally had some free time this week to play around in the kitchen. This was inspired by my intense stress/PMS chocolate cravings I had lately *nervous laugh* because OMG it’s been bad. I am trying to stay on track but have had several days where I just HAVE to have something sweet. So I decided to try and come up with a new sweet treat that at least has some goods in there for ya too.

Overall, these are pretty clean since the only added sugar is in the mini chocolate chips (or whatever mix-ins you choose) and the applesauce but only because I accidentally got regular instead of unsweetened. Try and go with a natural peanut butter, as it has fewer ingredients than even the low-fat PBs. Honey is also optional, I just added a tiny bit for taste.

Cacao Peanut Butter Energy Balls

1 cup old fashioned oats, blended in processor for about 20 seconds (could also use quick oats)
1/4 cup natural peanut butter
2 tbsp cacao powder (can sub with cocoa powder)
1/3 cup applesauce (preferably unsweetened unless you’re like me and don’t pay attention lol but either works)
1 tbsp natural honey
2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (can use any mix-ins you want! raisins, nuts, etc.)

Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl, until completely combined. Let sit in freezer for 20-30 minutes, then roll into balls. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Please let me know if you try these and what you think! Hope you have the best day. Be kind to someone today!

My Self Care Routine

*dealing with a knee injury, don’t mind the kinesio tape. trendy right?*

If you’ve stopped by my blog any in the past, you probably know I’m a big advocate of self love. I think loving yourself should come first (well…after Jesus, the real mvp) in order for other relationships to flourish in life. The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have.

So, one of the most important ways to keep up the self love supply is to practice self CARE! It sounds so cliche at first, but when you really stop to think about it, it is so important. Especially if you’re on a really busy schedule and don’t have much time to spend on yourself. If you’re not taking care of yourself, how are you going to genuinely be able to take care of your marriage, kids, other relationships, etc.?! It just makes sense to take time, even if it’s a small amount of time, to focus on yourself, your health, and your happiness.

With the hubby being gone for so long, I have had extra time at night and on weekends to spend on myself. Not in a selfish way, but in a self-improvement way. Because if I improve myself, I can ultimately improve my marriage and relationship with him! So everyone wins 🙂

Here are a few things I always make sure to incorporate into my routine as self care.

1. Exercise. This is probably my biggest (and most obvious) form of self care and it has been for as long as I can remember. If I’m stressed, I hit the gym and get my endorphins going and instantly feel better. If I’m angry, I go for a quick workout and blow off steam. If I’m feeling just blah, even a light yoga workout or walk can be a mood booster and simultaneously makes me feel better about my body! Getting plenty of exercise has SO many benefits.

2. Quiet time. This is something I totally dropped the ball on for the past two years, as life got really busy. I stopped taking my quiet time at night or in the morning and just got into the routine of skipping it. Recently, I started forcing myself to sit down for quiet time every morning with my coffee, and it has been life changing. Just like getting OUT of the habit became routine, you can easily get back INTO it if you simply make the time to do it. For me, quiet time is reading my devotional or Bible while sipping my coffee, and spending a few minutes in pray. It sets the tone for my day and gives me a sense of peace, regardless of how much stress I’m under. Find something that you can turn into your quiet time and use it to kick off your day OR wind it down at night!

3. Reading a book…for FUN. This is another one that I got too busy for the last couple years and recently started doing again. I forgot how relaxing it is to read a good thriller for an hour (or more depending on how thrilling it is!) a day! My friend Lauren came to visit me this summer and brought some good books with her. I borrowed one and we read on the beach and on the couch in our free time, and WOW was it nice. It’s such a good temporary escape from reality! I felt so recharged after finishing a book that week, so I’ve started reading more!

4. Eating GOOD food. This means two things to me, and in my opinion it has to be in BALANCE. Self care means taking good care of yourself, so naturally you should be eating foods that are good for your body! Whole foods, REAL food. Not eating junk every day or McDonald’s every day. I traveled a lot this summer, which forced me to eat out much more than I usually do… and it was such a good reminder as to WHY I choose to eat healthy most of the time. I felt SO gross when I was eating out a lot! My stomach hurt constantly and I just felt really sick. The other half of this ‘eating good food’ equation, however, is indulging when you want to! You can’t let the healthy lifestyle become an obsession – you have to find your balance! If you eat healthy during the week but want to have beer and nachos during the football game on the weekend? DO IT. DO IT!!! If you’re PMSing or had a terrible day and need a cupcake and some wine? FREAKING DO IT!

5. Get outside. Being outside, even for just a few minutes a day, can be so beneficial! The body converts sunlight into vitamin D once it hits your skin (just wear sunscreen if you’re out for a while!). Vitamin D helps with the absorption of calcium and promotes bone health. It also helps with muscle function and your immune system fighting off bad guys. Plus, being in the sun just makes you feel amazing! So go on a quick walk on lunch break, hit the beach for some yoga, or simply sit in your yard and read a book. Whatever you choose, you’ll feel great after spending some time outdoors! Again, instant mood booster.

6. Listen to your body and know when to slow down. This is so important. At my last job, it was SO high stress and high activity, that it was literally taking a toll on my physical health. I knew it would be a mentally stressful job, but it began causing my migraines to become SO much more frequent than they already were, I wasn’t getting enough sleep, and my foot that had surgery had begun to really bother again. Sometimes, you have to listen to the signs you’re body is giving you to take a step back and slow down. My husband reminded me that quality of life is more important than making a certain amount of money! It’s so true – it’s not worth putting your health at risk. Sometimes it’s okay to slow down and binge watch a season of Friends instead of going going going every single day!

That’s the run down on my self care techniques! I know there are lots of other ways to practice self care, but I don’t want to talk your ear off any more than I have 😉 Maybe I’ll do another self care post soon! Leave me a comment telling me your favorite self care practices!

Wellness Wednesday

HIII happy hump day! Halfway to Friday people.

So lets talk about my favorite yoga pants. These blue and gray ones from Firepower are seriously the shiz. They feel so amazing on! The material is comfy and high quality. They are a little more expensive than what I normally buy BUT hear me when I say SO. WORTH. IT. They’re still cheaper than Lulu though but still the same quality (hello, score). And they’re squat proof ladies!! I love how high waisted they are so no riding down your booty as you squat. This black mesh sports bra is also from Firepower. You can get a discount with my code – ‘REASONER’! I’ve got more exciting, new Firepower looks coming soon so stay tuned for those.

I have mentioned recently that I’m struggling with a knee injury that has set me back in my workouts (hashtag anxiety). Fortunately it’s looking like I won’t need surgery (thank God!) but they still don’t know why it’s still hurting. So frustrating! But anyways, at first I used my knee as an excuse to skip my workouts completely. Yes I was in a lot of pain so that’s understandable… to an extent. But now I have realized that instead of letting it defeat me, I can use this time as a chance to focus on what I CAN do instead of what I can’t.

For example: one of my biggest fitness goals right now is to do a pull-up on my own. So instead of being sad I can’t work legs on leg day (my fav workout) I can focus that energy on improving my upper body strength. My knee may be weak but my arms are perfectly fine. Might as well go hard with them! If you have something that you feel is holding you back from your goals, let it motivate you instead!

While rest days are extremely important, don’t use the little things as an excuse. Get out there and kick that excuses butt. Tired from work? Even just a 30 minute walk can boost your mood and energy. Too hot outside? Go for a swim – then you’re cooling off AND getting cardio in. Whatever it is, just do it.

And get some Firepower so you’ll look badass doing it 😉

Thanks for reading!

My Body Positivity Philosophy

I was recently having a conversation about body positivity that provoked the question – what is my take on the body positive movement?

Ever since I recovered from my eating disorder, I have become a fan of the body positivity movement. It was like a breath of fresh air after spending so long being a shell of a person, who had nothing but negative thoughts about body image. Once I found my own balance and self-love, I loved (& still love!) the thought of empowering and encouraging other women to love their own bodies – flaws and all. But I also have developed and evolved my own personal opinion on it.

Not only have I been through hell and back with an eating disorder battle, but I have my Bachelor’s in nutrition, so I obviously encourage an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits. I promote healthy lifestyle choices NOT to “be skinny” but to be healthy. Balance is so key in my life in many aspects but especially for my lifestyle (eating/exercise).

This is where the body positivity movement becomes a gray area in my opinion. I’m all about letting everyone have their own opinion and keeping my mouth shut on mine, but when I actually know what I’m talking about I like to call it out and speak my mind.

Body positivity SHOULD most definitely be… loving yourself regardless of your flaws, embracing those flaws, working out because you LOVE your body not because you hate it, and taking care of yourself — with a positive attitude through it all!

Body positivity should NOT be… using the body positive movement as an excuse to ignore unhealthy weight/unhealthy choices, avoiding exercise, and getting out of taking care of yourself.

NO you should not hate yourself, even if you are overweight/not where you want to be. You are, after all, fearfully and wonderfully made. But YES you should love yourself enough to make whatever changes are necessary to reach a healthy point. And NO you should not let those unhealthy behaviors steal your joy, because your weight does not define you. YES you should still strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle, because you love your body and want what’s best for it – you only get one ya know!

When you get your body to a healthy place – and I don’t just mean lose a bunch of weight because “healthy” has different meanings for every body – then all the rest will fall into place. The body positive movement is great for encouraging people to genuinely love their bodies… I hope and pray that every person can find that balance and love for themselves. But the body positive movement needs to stop making excuses for unhealthy eating and/or exercise habits. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle takes conscious effort, and yes that effort may be impossible on some days… but if you’re aiming for health at least most of the time, chances are you’ll find it easier to love yourself than if you’re making those excuses and avoiding healthy choices.

“Healthy” might mean you need to lose 10 pounds and a small percentage of body fat in order to avoid diabetes or heart risk. Or, “healthy” might mean you need to gain 15 pounds to get your period back and maintain a healthy body fat. Whatever “healthy” means to you, chase those goals, keep your attitude positive, and most importantly love yourself through all of those changes. That is what body positivity means to me. Because I believe that if you have a positive body image, you will have that desire to maintain health through an active lifestyle and healthy food choices (and balance throughout). If your ultimate goal is to be healthy AND happy, you shouldn’t use this millennial perspective to let go of your goals. Use it to fuel your motivation to meet your goals, whatever they may be.

I went from despising every picture I saw of myself and every glance I took in the mirror, to feeling amazing in every photo I see of myself (except for the outtakes where the wind blows my hair in my face and a bug lands on me all at the same time) and pointing out my own imperfections with admiration. I went from working out excessively due to hating my body, to listening to it and exercising in a healthy way to get stronger not skinnier. I love my body now, regardless of the parts that don’t look how I want them to. I would say that is pretty body positive! I didn’t suddenly begin overeating and become completely inactive because it’s the cool thing to do now… because that wouldn’t be good for my health!

I hope this helps clarify the gray area of the body positive movement – not to ramble about my own opinion but to shed light on how it could become potentially dangerous if viewed the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong – I’m still a big fan of it, I just want people to understand how it can be a good thing AND how it can be a not so good thing.

And keep in mind this is simply my opinion, so if you disagree that’s totally fine! I’d love to hear more opinions on this. I hope you feel amazing today! Thanks for reading

Love on Yourself Today

Hi pretty people!

I hope your day is going great, whatever you it is you are doing 🙂

I have talked about this towel in my instagram here and there, but it’s finally making its appearance on here. I love the round towel trend going on lately, and this one is such a fun print! I got it HERE and you can also use code “REASONER” for a discount. They have fitness apparel and lots of other goodies too! You’ll definitely be seeing more Firepower on here soon!

So speaking of bikinis… let’s talk about loving yourself – something y’all know I’m a huge fan of if you’ve read many of my posts.

Regardless of how big of a self-love advocate I am, I still occasionally struggle with loving the skin I’m in just as much as the next person. Lately I struggle with it more so than usual, because I’ve been unable to workout as much as I typically do, due to an injury. *Sidenote, if anyone knows how to acquire a bubble to live in let me know, I think I need one* So, when my ability to be active is compromised, the self doubt starts to set in and satan likes to take over from there. DON’T buy into it!

Am I right? Does this sound like something you struggle with, even if you can workout like normal? I always feel a little bit better when I can find someone to relate with how I’m feeling. So here I am, reminding you that you’re not the only one. Please let this be your daily reminder that you are amazing, beautiful, and a badass. Don’t buy into the negative thoughts in your head — having a roll here and there when you sit, or having stretch marks, or not having ripped abs, are not your flaws but what make you beautiful because no one else’s stretch marks, abs, or skin rolls are quite like yours. And that’s pretty cool.

So do yourself a favor and show your body some love. And this probably wont be the last time you hear me say that.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tropical Vibes

Happy Monday! It’s almost the best holiday ever and I’m so excited! I love the 4th of July and can’t wait to celebrate how awesome our country is 🙂

There’s a kind of funny story behind this shirt. I actually bought it two years ago and just cut the tags off and wore it this week. I got it back when I lived in Colorado after Jon proposed because I thought it’d be great for our honeymoon. I started stocking up on cute, beachy clothes and just saved them all for after the wedding. Well… here we are two years later and we haven’t gotten around to taking our honeymoon haha! Life gets crazy like that.

Anyways, I finally decided to just cut the tags and wear it – especially since palm prints are SO in this season. I have decided it’s time to just start stocking up on a new set of honeymoon clothes by now 😉 We are trying to take our trip this winter so hopefully life will allow us to slow down and take it!

I also have a broken toe right now, so just ignore the giant white tape on my foot. Another one of life’s LOL moments that you just have to roll with. I’ve had lots of those lately.

Anyways, this shirt is Show Me Your Mumu so it’s probably no longer in stock BUT I know they have tons of NEW fabulous tropical prints in stock now!! I got mine through Riffraff.

Shoes are forever21 and pants are Target! I feel like I’m always saying, “Oh thanks I got it at Target.” I might have a problem.

I’m off to the beach — have the best 4th of July ever! Thanks for reading!

Florals + Sunshine

Happy Friday!

I have recently discovered shein.com and it quickly made its way to the top of my favorites list (they are not paying me to say this- I actually just love them haha). They have so many cute things and tons of new arrivals all the time. Plus it. is. SO. affordable! This whole outfit was less than $25 (shirt + shorts)!!

I love the floral on this top for a pop of color, and the sheer material keeps it from looking too dark. You can dress it up or down – I kind of went for in between. You could also throw a lacey bralette underneath, instead of a tank, to make it a little sexier, depending where you’re going.

I loved shooting this look because it was the most beautiful day in Rosemary Beach. The week before had been super rainy and cloudy from the tropical storm, so enjoying a sunny day in a dreamy beach town was just what I needed! I realized, when the sun came back out after disappearing for a few days, that my mood had shifted with the weather. Everything seemed to be going wrong and I struggled to stay positive that week. I had let the gloominess get me down, even though in the grand scheme, things really weren’t that bad. The sun came back out and I felt like a weight had lifted. Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe not, but I think God was trying to remind me that He’s like the sun – you can’t always see Him but he’s always there waiting to shine when you need Him most! So don’t let the rainy days get you down – just take advantage of them and binge your favorite show or read your favorite book; whatever you gotta do to stay positive!

If you’re reading this, thank YOU. Have the best day ever!

Smiling Fearlessly with Smile Brilliant

I have been so excited to post this for you guys. I want to share with you the experience I’ve had with my new favorite way to whiten teeth – Smile Brilliant!

Because I know many of you (if not ALL) are probably on your second cup of coffee by now, let’s be real.

So, let’s rewind a few years to when I was in college… back when my coffee addiction began. It was my junior year, I had just transferred and changed majors AND gotten a new job, so my life suddenly got REAL busy. My life became: eat, class, work, study, repeat. Notice how there is no “sleep” in that pattern… because I truly rarely slept! I turned to coffee. I had made it to 21 without HAVING to have coffee in my life. But y’all… that year I just couldn’t live without it! The addiction had begun. I drank it alllllll the time, several times a day most days.

Now, here I am, still in a committed relationship with coffee. I have tried to quit coffee numerous times. It just doesn’t work out! I even do decaf (ugh I just cringed at myself) sometimes, but never quitting coffee. And don’t get me started on wine!! I had recently tried Crest white strips, but wasn’t a huge fan of them because of how difficult they were to keep on. When I wore them, they slipped off my teeth almost every time, so I felt like it was a waste. I had finally accepted that my teeth will probably never reach their full, whiteness potential.

Being a blogger and all, it’s impossible not to want a fresher, whiter smile – it’s our biggest accessory! But we also want convenience, am I right? Enter Smile Brilliant! I’m so glad that I found a whitening kit that is EASY and that WORKS.

Here’s the rundown:

Smile Brilliant is an at home teeth whitening system that has really figured it out. They are recommended by more dentists than any other whitening product! And can whiten your teeth for 70% of your dentist’s cost, and over twice as fast! Amazing, right?!

After receiving your whitening kit, you send in your teeth molds (don’t worry – they pay for your shipping to send it back!). Then they send your custom-fitted trays straight to your door, and boom you can get started!

First of all, the step-by-step instructions are very user friendly and easy to understand! I loved this because when using a product with multiple steps, I need it all thoroughly described or I worry I’m doing it wrong. This seemed so easy!

Another thing I loved about this process, is the custom teeth trays. They actually stay in place, unlike most strips I’ve used that slide off your teeth when wearing them. I can actually do things and talk (just with a slight lisp haha) while I have them in without worrying about them messing up or slipping off my teeth. Because who has time to just sit there while you wait?!

Now for the question you’re probably already asking in your head – does it give you tooth sensitivity? While I definitely experienced some mild sensitivity while the trays were in, I hardly felt any once I was done using them. The only time I had any gum pain was during the whitening (because the gel was touching my gums slightly). It does burn a bit at first, and may be a bit uncomfortable, but nothing too crazy. Fortunately, they provide you with a desensitizing gel to use after the wwhitening gel! This seemed to help my gums a lot! I was so thankful for this, because I hate when my teeth get sensitive, and any other whitener I’ve used makes them sensitive. I’m sure everyone’s teeth/gums are different, but for me it was very minimal sensitivity. If you do experience some though, they have tips for helping ease it 🙂

My favorite thing about the custom whitening trays? THEY WORK! I noticed a difference within a couple times of using them. It’s honestly pretty amazing to watch your teeth change within a couple weeks’ time! I’ll share my before and after photos below so you can see for yourself.

I would 100% recommend Smile Brilliant if you’re looking to whiten your teeth. Not only does the product work, but the customer service is extremely helpful and kind. I even messed up one of my first molds I sent in for my trays, and they quickly sent me a second round so that I could try again! They were helpful in how to properly do it and were very patient. I also received everything in the mail promptly and quickly!

Before showing off my Before’s and After’s, let’s talk GIVEAWAY! I’m teaming with Smile Brilliant to give away a customized tray creation kit!! This is a $139 value, so you definitely don’t want to miss out on entering! The giveaway will be open for ONE week! What Living on Base Has Taught Me About Decor

Hey friends! I hope your day rocks so far. I’m currently swooning over this cup of coffee… it’s some local coffee we picked up from the farmers market and I’m in love. It may or may not be my second cup of the day.

Today I’m giving you a (tiny) look into my home so that I can share what living on base has shown me about decorating my house! This may be helpful to any new military spouses who are about to move into base housing OR for anyone simply wondering how to efficiently (in my opinion) decorate. Or just for anyone wanting a little glimpse into my base housing experience. 🙂

I am only showing a couple of areas in my home, because as I’ll explain shortly, this is a PROCESS. And a slow one! Keep in mind we are still kind of newly weds soooo some areas of the house are just not decorated yet!

1. Use pops of color wherever you can! For those of you unfamiliar with the white walls club, typically base housing has all white walls in every room of the house. You are only allowed to paint them something else IF you paint them white again before you move out. This just sounds like a ton of work for a temporary home, so we chose to stick with the white walls. This means that you must add color any chance you get! I’m a huge sucker for neutrals (with decor AND my clothes!) so I have learned to add color. Add some bright flowers to a table, or a bright color picture on the wall. You may have some bright throw pillows you can add to your couch to brighten up the whole room. Just don’t be afraid to add bright colors where you can – as long as they match/coordinate the theme of the room! One of my favorite pops of color in my dining room is the peonies – in my table center piece and on the dream catcher. It’s a simple way to brighten the room!

2. Utilize all of the space you’re given! Here is a great example of this – my bar nook! When we first moved into this house, we were intrigued and honestly confused by the awkward, random nook in the dining room wall. We left it alone for several months because we couldn’t decide what to do with the space. Then one day it hit me – a bar nook! I searched Pinterest for all kinds of inspo, and thanks to my hubby’s willingness to spend hours in HomeGood’s with me, my bar area came to life within a week! I combined my love for chic/classic decor with his love for whiskey (the prints) and BAM a bar area we both love! So, don’t be scared to get creative with those random spaces in your house! Use the space you’re given efficiently and you’ll find it easier to decorate AND store things.

3. Simple is okay! I find myself often comparing my house to other peoples’ houses and how thoroughly decorated they are. But I have to remind myself that it’s okay to go for a simple look! One thing that drives me crazy is clutter – so having a simple theme is great if you get clutter anxiety like me! It makes the room look clean and tidy without having to try too hard. Plus, if you’re only going to be living there a year or two, then it’s just a few less things you have to take down when it comes time to PCS!

4. Decorating is a process! This is the biggest realization I have had since moving here! It may sound silly but when we first moved here and made a few friends, I would get so down on myself after seeing their houses. I felt like my house would never look as good as theirs or that I would never know how to decorate well enough. But then I realized, we JUST got married less than two years ago! We JUST moved here a year ago! We are still figuring out what our style is and letting it evolve into exactly what we want it to be. It takes some time to accumulate all of the pieces you need for your house to look whole! Not only time but money! It definitely takes MONEY. So what we have done is simply buy a few things here and there, every couple of months, and before you know it you’ll have a whole room complete! It just takes time (and patience). You gotta save up dat money to be able to replace the old, eclectic college hand-me-downs with your very own furniture.

Hope this helps you out, wherever you are in your home decor journey! Here is where my decor is from:

Dream catcher – HEREMy friend Kristi from back home has started an awesome business (Krafti Kristi) and her goal is to bring your Pinterest boards to life. How cool is that?! I know I’m guilty of pinning crafts and never following through with them, so having someone do it for you is pretty awesome. Check out her page!

Gold photos + ‘Kitchen’ sign + clock + succulents – Hobby Lobby! The photos and signs were incredibly affordable, and I made my own succulent displays! Just got the jar, stones, and plants from HL and assembled it how I wanted 🙂

Bar cart + chai candle – HomeGood’s! Seriously there are no words for how bad I want everything when I go in HomeGood’s. If you need a bar cart, they have lots of cute ones to choose from!

Large whiskey print – Amazon!

Hanging wine rack – my talented husband! 🙂

Painted wine bottles – used from my wedding! Efficiency at its finest 🙂

Aztec rug + gold lights – Target! Linking the rug HERE. Lights were in the dollar section!

Monday Motivation feat. Firepower

Hi guys! Hope your Monday is off to a great start! I’m trying to resist the urge to drink all the coffee right now. I’m trying to decrease my caffeine intake and see how it affects my migraines! So far I’ve made it one whole day without it. 😅

Anyways! Let’s talk fitness.

In my opinion, fitness doesn’t just include physical health, although that’s a huge part of it. I believe mental health plays an important role in one’s overall fitness. If your mind is struggling, chances are your physical fitness will as well – whether it’s being too obsessed with exercise or lacking the motivation to start exercising at all.

That being said, I want to share what I have been struggling with personally lately! This blog isn’t just about my favorite clothes, it helps keep me accountable too 🙂

Sometime the last couple months, I have done something to my back. And it HURTS. All the time. Of course this happens to me right when I start feeling better from my foot surgery and working out regularly again! Because #badluckbeth. Anyways, I had just started to see the fruits of my gym labor (aka abs!) when suddenly I could hardly go for a simple walk because of my back pain. I struggled and struggled with having to rest. I hate resting because I feel like it means I’m not getting closer to my goals. The phrase “if you’re not winning, you’re losing” comes to mind.

What I’ve learned, however, recently is that I have to listen to what my body is telling me. That back pain is there for a reason. Our bodies are very smart and since we only get one, why NOT listen to it?! I’m so glad I listened to mine and took the last several weeks (more like two months, at this point lol) to rest and recover. I’m currently working with some physical therapists to get my back figured out, and what we’ve learned so far is that my back is only at 50% strength of what it should be. Like, I’m at the bottom of the lowest deviation from normal LOL what?! No wonder my back is screaming at me everyday!!

So now, between my physical therapists and my fitness coach, we are going to get my back stronger than ever so that I don’t have to deal with this anymore.

The moral of my story – if you’re still reading this congrats you rock – is that if we don’t listen to our bodies NOW, they will end up suffering more LATER. So listen to what your body is telling you. Love your body through that process, whether you lose a little muscle mass or gain an extra pound or two, because your body is worth it.

I’ve still been able to get some light cardio in on most days, and it’s been great being able to incorporate my family into that! I’m doing a summer body challenge with my Firepower fam and it’s been challenging dealing with my back, but I’ve loved the motivation it gives me.

My yoga pants and sports bra here are both Firepower, and you can get a discount HERE with my code “reasoner”!! I love the mesh detail on them, and the material of the pants is amaze. So comfy.

Hope you have a lovely Monday! Thanks for reading!
