Monday Motivation

Hi guys! Hope your week is off to a lovely start. After having my family in town last week, this week already seems to be dragging and quite boring. I wish I could just keep them here with me, haha! We had so much fun. I’m already anxious for their next visit.

We spent most of the time at the beach, but when we weren’t on the beach we went out exploring some new places – shops, coffee/food places, etc. – and eating yummy food (my best hobby!). We shot these photos in Historic St. Andrews – one of my all time favorite spots in this whole area!

This outfit was perfect for covering up my sunburnt shoulders without making me sweat in the heat! I bought this shirt at Riffraff several years ago, and I’m so happy I have held onto it, because bell sleeves are making the biggest comeback! I will link the outfit details at the bottom of the post (linking similar shirts since this one is old)!

Anyways, let’s talk about getting OUT of your own head and letting positivity in!

One of my BIGGEST struggles this week, to be honest.

I have come a reeeally long way as far as self love and all that goes. Most days, I love myself regardless of what negative thoughts try to pop into my head and ruin my day… But some days, or weeks, just don’t come as easy. Some days, my negativity toward MYSELF saturates everything I do and affects my whole mood. Not cool, but it is what it is. So please know that you are not the only one struggling with this!

My husband said something very profound to me today, although to him it was probably a simple remark. But when I was complaining about something, I said to him, “Ugh, it’s fine. I’m fine.” And he replied with, “Fine, or good?” WOW this resonated so much for some reason. (Sorry babe for telling this 😘 but your wisdom must be shared!)

Maybe it’s just me, but that made me stop and think about how negative I was being for NO reason. I was acting like my world was going to end, when in reality, I am good and LIFE. IS. GOOD. God has given me this life and this purpose, and it is good and it is well. We aren’t put here to be average and “just fine” but to be happy and purpose-driven.

It’s like God is just really pushing for me to get my chin up ASAP because on top of the hubby’s encouragement, I was reading my devotional and it basically said, “You’re gonna get through today, no matter what, so you might as well take the happy route through today, by choosing Me.”

If you’re doubting yourself, whether it be your appearance, your financial situation, your job, whatever – please remember to choose Him, choose HAPPY! Being happy is a choice, and you’re the only one who can make it πŸ™‚

I may only be preaching to myself today… but hey, I hope this helps you lift your chin a little like it did mine. Hope your week is fabulous! Thanks for stopping by

Blush Crush

Hi guys! Happy hump day πŸ™‚ I almost said happy Monday butΒ then realized today is Wed and my days are all mixed up.

My hubby is about to be gone for awhile so we took a last minute getaway trip to Atlanta the last few days! We had so much fun. I came home with a full heart and hopefully some new abs from laughing so hard. JK we ate out for every meal so bye bye abs. It felt great to get away for a hot minute!

Anyways, first let’s talk about my current spring obsession: blush. It’s the color of the season and I’m not mad about it. I went shopping the other day and everywhere I looked, I saw blush tops and accessories.

So this top combines two of my favorite trends – the color blush and the off shoulder top! Seriously as good as it gets for a top. Plus it’s so light and comfy, yet the sleeves give you some cover if you’re going out at night! I wore this out to dinner the other night and it was the PERFECT lightweight long sleeve for a spring evening. I can’t wait to pair it with white skinnies or denim cutoffs in the summer!

Second. While we’re talking about vacation and indulging and all the cheats I ate *and loved* while traveling with my love… lets also talk about balance!

Balance is a great thing. And I am so happy I have finally found a level of self love where I can find my balance.

Don’t get me wrong – I still have moments where I talk bad about my body and hate what I see in the mirror (I’m a work in progress but I’m also better than I have been in a long time!!). I’m not perfect!!

BUT! I’m not gonna let my fear of maybe eating extra calories overcome my enjoyment of YUMMYΒ FOOD and time with my hubby! Something I’ve learnedΒ and truly believe is this:

Hating your body won’t get you nearly as far as loving it.

So moral of this rambling story: enjoy the occasional indulgences! You will drive yourself crazy if you are too hard on yourself. Trust me. Don’t deprive yourself of good moments with friends/family because of your fear of food. Food is to be enjoyed. If you’re a foodie like me, you will be so sad if you skip the treats 100% of the time. As long as you love yourself enough to put real, clean food in it MOST of the time and remain active — you can have that cookie every now and then πŸ˜‰

Okay I hope you guys have the best Wednesday. Thanks for reading!

Happy Monday! I hope you’re having the best Monday ever. I haven’t had coffee all day and I’m wondering how I’m still alive right now.

Anyways, I’m excited to share this outfit with you guys because it’s one of my favorites for fall! The weather is finally getting cooler here in FL, but it’s mainly cool in the mornings and evenings. Which means it’s hard to find the appropriate outfit to wear when going out. That’s why I was so excited when I got this cute suede skirt because it’s very fall-ish yet not too warm for the Florida sunshine!

I went with a simple, white crop top for this one because it was pretty warm out. But if you’re wanting a little more warmth, throw a chunky knit sweater over the crop and you’re good to go. I am currently on the hunt for a chunky knit for this season, just for outfits like this one. They’re more versatile than you think! And of course, boots. Because it’s not fall without boots. Am I right? I’m SO thankful my hubby got me these boots a couple of years ago because over the knee boots are THE SHIZ right now! And they don’t have a heel, which is even better for me and my weak feet!

I got the skirt for less than $15 (yes, you read that right!) at forever21. The crop is from ShopRiffraff (& I’m pretty sure they recently re-stocked it!!). Like I said, the boots are from a couple seasons ago, but I am linking very similar ones for you at the bottom!

I was sitting in the tire shop this afternoon (for way too long *eye roll*) and the news was on. Oh my gosh it made me SO sad hearing about all the hate people are displaying in our country right now. So here’s my tiny ray of sunshine for your day: God is the One who ultimately runs this place, and He has huge plans for all of us! So let’s please love on one another regardless of who we voted for, because like the song says, “Red yellow black and white, we’re all precious in His sight!” Let’s pray for more love and less hate.

Hope you babes have the best start to your week, and thanks for reading!

Summer/Fall Transition

Happy Friday, loves! I am finally back with an #ootd post, which is long overdue.

We have been either out of town or having people in town staying with us for the last five weeks or so. It has been so much fun but SO exhausting. I’ve been swimming in homework, on top of the school year starting at work. Luckily, we are off today (Friday) and Monday is a holiday so it’s a looong weekend! Couldn’t be happier. Also, we survived the “hurricane” that hit last night. As you can see from the clear sky behind me, it cleared up pretty quick. It rained for a few minutes and was a little windy, so we got lucky. Saying some prayers for those who did get affected by it, though.

So, my favorite time of year is finally upon us. FOOTBALL. SEASON.

In fact, the reason I’m doing this post so late is because we just finished our Fantasy Football draft. My Razorbacks play tomorrow. My Broncos play on Thursday. I’m so pumped! My excitement for football season is what inspired today’s outfit. I wanted to show you guys what I’d wear if I was headed to a local bar to watch the Hogs play (hence the pop of red).

There’s a funny story behind this crop top – I never buy crop tops anymore, as I feel that I am too old and left that phase in my senior year of college. However, this crop top may have changed my mind. When I ordered this top (HERE), I was intending on ordering the skirt they had it paired with. I was dying for that skirt. So I bought it. Well, it came in the mail, what I thought was my skirt. I opened it and this crop top was in there. I realized I accidentally bought the top, not the skirt. I didn’t read the description closely enough to realize the skirt was the item next to it… Ooops! But look how cute it is!! It worked out well for me, because this is the perfect comfy/cute crop. Say that ten times fast.

Anyways, I paired it with denim shorts to keep it casual, because I wanted to wear my SEC hat. But I have so many outfit ideas in mind for this crop, it goes with everything. I threw on the plaid button up to break it up a little and of course add a pop of color. It also makes it a little more fall-ish; since it’s September now I figured I could start the transition.

I got all of these items HEREΒ – and you can use code ‘riffraffrepbeth’ for 15% off your order plus FREE shipping, holla!

Hope you guys are having a great Friday and a blessed weekend. You are beautiful! Thanks for reading!!

It has been raining here for the past three days, so I’m just going to do a bright, sunny post and pretend the sun is out! Tomorrow is Monday, so it’s back to reality. I had the best week last week with my sister and her bestie (who is basically my sister too). I loved pretending I’m not old now and enjoying spring break with them!

We pretty much laid on the beach every chance we got – the weather wasn’t great on some days but we got a couple good beach days! I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. As I’m looking back on photos, I’m amazed at how pretty it is here. I can’t believe we went from beautiful mountains to beautiful emerald beaches! The military has been good to us so far!

My latest discovery has been that I don’t have any good swimsuit coverups (not cool considering I live at the beach). I need to hop on that, but for now I improvised. I realized that Wildfox tees are honestly amazing coverups. I threw mine on with casual shorts, but if you’re going straight to the pool/beach it’s long enough to go without. It made for a really cute and COMFY coverup. My favorite part is that it’s modest but still cute (I tried to be aware of this since we were on a beach with families around!). There are so many cute Wildfox tees similar to this one Here. Unfortunately this one is sold out but they recently posted new ones! *get 15% off with my code ‘riffraffrepbeth’!

Hope you all have a great week!
