Tropical Vibes

Happy Monday! It’s almost the best holiday ever and I’m so excited! I love the 4th of July and can’t wait to celebrate how awesome our country is πŸ™‚

There’s a kind of funny story behind this shirt. I actually bought it two years ago and just cut the tags off and wore it this week. I got it back when I lived in Colorado after Jon proposed because I thought it’d be great for our honeymoon. I started stocking up on cute, beachy clothes and just saved them all for after the wedding. Well… here we are two years later and we haven’t gotten around to taking our honeymoon haha! Life gets crazy like that.

Anyways, I finally decided to just cut the tags and wear it – especially since palm prints are SO in this season. I have decided it’s time to just start stocking up on a new set of honeymoon clothes by now πŸ˜‰ We are trying to take our trip this winter so hopefully life will allow us to slow down and take it!

I also have a broken toe right now, so just ignore the giant white tape on my foot. Another one of life’s LOL moments that you just have to roll with. I’ve had lots of those lately.

Anyways, this shirt is Show Me Your Mumu so it’s probably no longer in stock BUT I know they have tons of NEW fabulous tropical prints in stock now!! I got mine through Riffraff.

Shoes are forever21 and pants are Target! I feel like I’m always saying, “Oh thanks I got it at Target.” I might have a problem.

I’m off to the beach — have the best 4th of July ever! Thanks for reading!

Monday Motivation

Hi guys! Hope your week is off to a lovely start. After having my family in town last week, this week already seems to be dragging and quite boring. I wish I could just keep them here with me, haha! We had so much fun. I’m already anxious for their next visit.

We spent most of the time at the beach, but when we weren’t on the beach we went out exploring some new places – shops, coffee/food places, etc. – and eating yummy food (my best hobby!). We shot these photos in Historic St. Andrews – one of my all time favorite spots in this whole area!

This outfit was perfect for covering up my sunburnt shoulders without making me sweat in the heat! I bought this shirt at Riffraff several years ago, and I’m so happy I have held onto it, because bell sleeves are making the biggest comeback! I will link the outfit details at the bottom of the post (linking similar shirts since this one is old)!

Anyways, let’s talk about getting OUT of your own head and letting positivity in!

One of my BIGGEST struggles this week, to be honest.

I have come a reeeally long way as far as self love and all that goes. Most days, I love myself regardless of what negative thoughts try to pop into my head and ruin my day… But some days, or weeks, just don’t come as easy. Some days, my negativity toward MYSELF saturates everything I do and affects my whole mood. Not cool, but it is what it is. So please know that you are not the only one struggling with this!

My husband said something very profound to me today, although to him it was probably a simple remark. But when I was complaining about something, I said to him, “Ugh, it’s fine. I’m fine.” And he replied with, “Fine, or good?” WOW this resonated so much for some reason. (Sorry babe for telling this 😘 but your wisdom must be shared!)

Maybe it’s just me, but that made me stop and think about how negative I was being for NO reason. I was acting like my world was going to end, when in reality, I am good and LIFE. IS. GOOD. God has given me this life and this purpose, and it is good and it is well. We aren’t put here to be average and “just fine” but to be happy and purpose-driven.

It’s like God is just really pushing for me to get my chin up ASAP because on top of the hubby’s encouragement, I was reading my devotional and it basically said, “You’re gonna get through today, no matter what, so you might as well take the happy route through today, by choosing Me.”

If you’re doubting yourself, whether it be your appearance, your financial situation, your job, whatever – please remember to choose Him, choose HAPPY! Being happy is a choice, and you’re the only one who can make it πŸ™‚

I may only be preaching to myself today… but hey, I hope this helps you lift your chin a little like it did mine. Hope your week is fabulous! Thanks for stopping by

Rainy Day Casual

Hi friends! I have been loving my time here at home the last few weeks – terrifying storms and all. But, let’s be honest… you can only keep a girl away from the beach for so long. I am anxious to get back to my actual home!! Plus, living out of a suitcase can get exhausting. I’d say the biggest struggle for me lately, however, has been change. Plans changing. So many things in my life have just changed at the last minute and left me feeling caught off guard and stressed out and sometimes even angry. I’m a planner, it’s just my personality. While I do love being spontaneous, I also need structure. So, when not just one but many things up and change in my life all at once, no matter how big or small – it causes chaos in my mind (looking at you, Satan).

Lately I’ve learned to just be still and know that God is in control, not me. My job is not to worry, because what does that do? Having faith isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. So, wherever you’re at in life, keep your faith even when it’s tough! He’s got your back I promise!

Sorry for the completely non-fashion-related rambling. I felt like someone else might be feeling like me so thought I’d share πŸ™‚

For a good chunk of the time I’ve spent here, it has rained. In fact, immediately after taking these pictures, it poured. April showers this year have been relentless! I wish I had a dollar for every tornado warning we’ve had here lol. These crazy storms ruined some of my most exciting plans here.

Anyways, because of all the rain, the theme of many of my outfits became COMFY+CUTE. And this dress is about as comfy as it gets! I got it back in December, and it’s versatile and can be worn into the spring! I usually break up the stripes by tying a long sleeve around the waist. I went for chambray this time, but plaid is really cute with it too! And being in AR for the week, I figured this hat was pretty appropriate πŸ™‚ I got it HERE and they actually have recently released some new, similar hats that are SO cute (think: one says “Dry Shampoo” omg yas). And my Steve Madden’s on my feet because HOLY COMFY.

And that, my friends, is how you stay comfy yet cute in the rainy weather (without having to try too hard hehe). Hope your week is fantastic!

Happy hump day guys! I hope you’re all having a great week. I am off work today to catch up on homework, so I figured I might as well catch up on the blog as well!

One of my favorite holidays is right around the corner, and I can’t wait. Since America is so awesome, it calls for an awesome celebration. Which means that you need an awesome outfit (duh). I love getting patriotic themed clothes, not just for the 4th but for anytime. The 4th is great excuse to go all out though!

I know you guys probably think I have a Riffraff addiction, but they really do have the best goodies for anything you need an outfit for, including the 4th. They recently launched their Camp America line, so their site is currently full of awesome patriotic tees and accessories right now!! You can shop my look and all kinds of fun stuff right HERE! You can also get 15% off + free shipping with my code “riffraffrepbeth”!!

I can’t wait to rep the greatest country on Earth in a few weeks! It’s also going to be my first 4th of July on the beach, so I’m pretty pumped about that. Fireworks and the ocean are a pretty rad combo. What are you guys doing for the 4th?!

Hope the rest of your week goes well and the weekend finds you quickly!

Happy Friday, pretty people! I can’t believe it’s already the weekend again. I am back home in AR for a few days and the time is already flying! It seems like I can never have quite enough time to fit everything in while I’m here. There are so many people, both family and friends, who I am dying to see — yet at the same time I am dying to cuddle up on the couch with my dog and watch a movie with the parents. The struggle is so real!

I haven’t done a style post in a while, so I thought I’d show y’all my favorite basic shirt right now. I know when you hear basic tee you probably think of black or neutrals, but this tank is the perfect basic tank that adds a great pop of summer color. It is simple and comfy, like a basic tee, yet you can easily dress it up with heels and jewelry. Or you can throw on a hat with converses and it’s totally casual. Just do you. Lots of options with this one. Side note, I am obsessed with the material. It’s soft like a sweater, but thin like cotton. Yas gimme.

I dressed it up for this look, but I’m definitely putting it with converses next time I wear it! (which very well might be in like three days #obsessed).

OH and the bra/crop underneath it is the perfect coordinating pattern! I love adding pops of pattern like this. I forgot I even had this crop and happened to throw it in my bag! So glad I did. It was $5 at Forever21, by the way. Jeans are also Forever, but nacklace and tank areΒ Riffraff and shoes are Target!

I hope you all have a rad weekend. I hope you feel beautiful today!
